Our Children at LPPC
There are many opportunities for the children at LPPC to come together as a faith family. We value the opportunity to help guide our children as they discover who God is and remind them of how much they are loved.
Whether it’s going rafting on the Rio Grande, enjoying solstice celebrations and teaching our children about God’s love in nature around us, attending our summer Isotopes baseball games, participating in our Christmas pageant, singing in the youth choir, our kids are a part of our faith family. Our church activities always welcome our younger family members, but a couple of specific programs are focused just for our kids:
Our nursery is available for smaller children up to age 5 during the 10:30 am Worship Service (there is no childcare service during the 8:30 Service) and during the 9:30 am Summer Worship Service. From September until May, caregivers are available from 10:15 until after worship services to care for your child in our fun-filled nursery. Please check the church calendar for special events when the nursery might be closed or call the church office at 867-5718
Sunday School and Vacation Bible School
Our Children’s Christian Education classes are open to all children to learn more about God’s love. Our classes are currently split into two ages groups: the younger group is kindergarten - 2nd grade and the older groups is 3rd grade and up. During the months of September - May during the 10:30 am Worship Service, we ask all families to gather in the sanctuary at the beginning of the service. After the Children’s Sermon, the children will be excused to attend the nursery, Sunday School or stay with their families. During the summer, we do not hold regular Sunday School classes and kids get to enjoy worship services with our whole church family. Also during the summer (usually July), LPPC holds a Vacation Bible Adventure (VBA) for our kids to help nuture their growing relationship with God and have a fun summer activities.
We are always looking for motivated members of the church and community who would like to help teach Sunday School or VBA! If your heart is moved to help teach our children and youth about the love and grace of God in their lives, please contact the church office at 867-5718.
Since 1989, LPPC has sponsored a daycare co-op program called "Mother's Day Out" or MDO for the families of our communities. MDO operates from 9:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday, for $15/day. When available, before-care and after-care can be scheduled. Children age 18 months to Pre-K can come up to 5 days a week, as space permits, and all members of the community are welcome.
