Membership Committee

The LPPC Membership Committee is one of the most active church committees responsible for these very important goals to the church community:

  1. Creating a more visible presence for LPPC and our ministry in the Placitas community
  2. Improving visitor welcoming and follow-up processes
  3. Integrating new members so they become quickly active in the life and programs of the church
  4. Improving internal and external communications (including the church website)
  5. Promoting more activities and gatherings for the congregation
  6. Coordinating the Time and Talent commitment process on a year round basis
  7. Following up on inactive members
  8. Reviewing and updating church library and history archives and pictorial documentation

The Membership Committee also trains and oversees our wonderful volunteer Ushers and Greeters and the Visitor Hosts for each Sunday morning who watch for and introduce newcomers at each service.

Isotopes Game Night

We also get to plan the FUN STUFF - usually months where there aren't a lot of all-church social gatherings (Easter Brunch, enchilada dinners, etc.).

Some of these outings have been the Summer Isotopes Family Night (see photo), Guess Who's Coming to Dinner potlucks at several different homes,  and small group barbecues during the summer.  We also help plan the picnic for the summer Outdoor Worship Service.

What can you do to help enrich the membership of LPPC?

There are few things every member and friend of LPPC can do to help the Membership Committee:

Remember YOU are the eyes and ears and hearts and hands of God’s welcome and our hospitality at LPPC!

If you have any questions or want to become more involved in the Membership Committee's work, please contact Wendy I. through the church office at 867-5718.

LPPC is a wonderful place to become involved in the community as well as the life of the church.  Some say, "We ARE the community!"  You will have a hard time finding a friendlier congregation and welcome all guests and visitor with warm hugs and a smile!

We have many talented, interesting, energetic and giving members.  When we combine our mutual interests and hidden talents we can only get better! The Membership Committee works to quickly involve all new members in the various activities that keep LPPC running smoothly.

Are you interested in joining LPPC?  We would love to meet you and answer your questions.   Please contact Pastor Elizabeth at the church office at 867-5718 or email at:  pastor@lasplacitaschurch.org

The Newest Members to our church family!

Please welcome Bethanne B., the newest member of the LPPC family.  Bethanne joined the church on February 14, 2010.

Nametags and Warm Welcomes, Please!

For all of our current members, please take time to extend our famous LPPC hospitality to unfamiliar faces—and don’t forget to wear your NAMETAGS!

If you need a new nametag, or would like one of the magical magnetic ones, please contact Charlotte L. through the church office at 867-5718.

Member Profiles

Beginning in November 2009, please watch the monthly LPPC Newsletter for the Member Profiles column.  Our committee knows there is a rich history in our longer term members and our newer members have interesting stories as well.  We hope this will help everyone get to know one another better.

The profiled member will also have photos and information on the Membership kiosk in Fellowship Hall.

Upcoming Events:

LPPC Membership Committee needs your help to collect that LPPC historical documents: We are collecting any documents from church members that have relevance to our history. If you have anything at home such as letters between long-ago church members, pastors, any old programs or other paperwork that would help us preserve our past, please give to Wendy Ingram. Emmet Thorpe will copy items onto archival quality paper and they will be stored appropriately. The originals will be returned to you. Thank you for your contributions!
