A Letter to the LPPC Congregation
From: Fellowship Committee
Re: Our Kitchen ---the Heart of LPPC
As the sanctuary is the soul of the church, the
kitchen is the heart of LPPC –for our congregation and for the community.
From the long traditions of the Navajo taco dinners,
enchilada dinners and holiday pot lucks, we have all enjoyed the food and
fellowship our kitchen gives us. More recently LPPC is becoming a much
used facility for community events.
Along with the blessing of expanding LPPC’s community
outreach comes the responsibility to ensure a safe kitchen for the
preparation and service of food. It is now time for LPPC to continue our
kitchen upgrade with the addition of a professional quality refrigerator.
This is essential for securing a yearly health certificate for LPPC and
would protect our church as well as other groups who utilize the facility.
Through some savvy competitive shopping we have
identified a professional grade refrigerator for $2,800 (the list price is
$6,500). The LPPC budget will not accommodate this expense at this time.
Session has given us approval to order the refrigerator and raise the
money to pay for it. We thank them for their faith in us.
Please remember all those yummy LPPC pot lucks and
dinners we have enjoyed and join us in continuing to upgrade our kitchen.
Please submit your contributions to LPPC with the notation "refrigerator"
on your check.
Thanks,
The Fellowship Committee
